Asheville Fine Art Printing (AFAP) was established in 2014 by Joshua Niven, a local artist and printing expert. AFAP proudly services Western North Carolina & beyond by specializing in Ink Jet printing on traditional and alternative substrates.

We aren't your average print shop.

Joshua Niven

Printer, Photographer, and Reproduction Specialist

Joshua was born in Germany and raised in the hills surrounding Charlotte, North Carolina. He graduated from the Savannah College of Art and Design with a degree in photography in 2012. A year later, he completed the entire Appalachian Trail on foot and self-published a photography book with over 150 images that he made during his thru-hike. He enjoys helping artists bring projects to life and often spends his days consulting and fine tuning concepts with clients over the phone. He takes pride in making sure every print and reproduction file is exceptional. In addition to operating Asheville Fine Art Printing, Joshua enjoys making his own art and spending time with the family on their homestead in Madison County, North Carolina.

Amber Niven

Admin & Community Development

Amber works behind the scenes to make sure AFAP is running smoothly. She manages marketing efforts and is passionate about supporting our artists through cross promotions and events. You’ll often see her at pick and drops coordinating with artists. Born and raised in the Smoky Mountains, Amber shares a passion of the great outdoors with Joshua. Together, they hike, swim in the rivers and camp whenever possible.

Fun Fact: Josh and Amber met on the Appalachian Trail and are now published authors of multiple guidebooks. Check out Good Morning Appalachia to learn more about what they do when they aren’t running the print shop (or chasing kids around their property).
